The stories we carry

We all carry things no one else can see. A tote bag is an object built for carrying, but what it holds is only ever the visible part. The rest travels with us anyway, our histories, griefs, memories, and the quiet weight that doesn't show on the outside, that no one around us ever fully knows.

This piece uses the bag as a stand-in for that gap: between what's carried and what's shown. The bag performs its function plainly, holding whatever's put into it. But the name insists on the other kind of carrying, the one that has no container, no visible shape, and no end point. Everyone around you is holding something like this. You just can't see it.
